Custom Steel Fabrication of Carbon Steel Tubes for the Nuclear Power Industry

Harmony Metal Fabrication was approached by a client in the nuclear power industry to manufacture carbon steel tubes that would be used in a power plant. Following the customer supplied 3D CAD drawings, we fabricated the tubes from carbon steel using machining processes such as sawing, drilling, and milling. Sand blasting and spray painting the tubes with gray epoxy finished the tubes per the customer requirements. The tubes had a final dimension of 6" x 6" with a wall thickness of ¼". The tubes varied in lengths through 40" and weighed 1,000 lb. We manufactured these tubes to tolerances of ±1/16" and performed inspection testing to ensure that the tubes met all required specifications.
