Steel Splitter

Aware of our strong abilities in custom metal fabrication, a pollution control industry customer contacted Harmony Metal Fabrication with a challenging project. We were contracted to create a large “splitter” part, used in smokestack scrubbing. Our extensive experience in metal fabrication made us able to deliver a cost-effective solution that did not compromise on the customer’s requirements.

A wide variety of cutting and fabrication operations were applied to complete this project. Creation of the necessary steel plate, pipe, and bar parts required use of machining, rolling, drilling, welding, sand blasting, and painting processes. Additional cuts were performed through sawing, burning, and plasma cutting operations. Equipment we used included a band saw, a drill press, a welding station, and a CNC-controlled plasma cutter. The completed splitter unit measured 2’ in diameter and 3’ in height. Dimensional tolerances were successfully held to ±1/16″. After an exterior painted finish was applied, air tight leak testing and a final dimensional inspection rounded out the project. This splitter device was fabricated with a fast lead time of only 3 weeks, built to high standards of quality made possible by our cutting-edge services.
